From TOSOH, CORONATE^® HXR is a hardener for non-yellowing types of polyurethane-based paint and coatings.

CORONATE^® HXR has superior performance to biuret or adducts types of hardeners and is widely accepted in the paint industry for various applications including automotive refinishing, wood finishes, motorbike parts etc.

CORONATE^® HXR may also be utilised in resin bonded aggregates, creating weather resistant flooring that does not yellow when exposed to sunlight. CORONATE^® HXR has great compatibility with polyols, high solubility in solvents and resistance to high heat. CORONATE^® HXR is not diluted with any solvent, giving a higher degree of formulation freedom.

Combining TOSOH CORONATE^® HXR or CORONATE^® HXR LV (a low viscosity grade) with acrylic polyols produces non-yellowing paints with excellent weathering ability and resistance to ultra-violet rays to ensure original colour can be sustained for long periods. CORONATE^® HXR or CORONATE^® HXRLV used in combination with alkyd polyols results in two-component paints commonly used for industrial purposes such as wood finishes.

CORONATE^® HXR 90 is a 90% solids grade of Hexamethylene Diisocyanate trimer (HDI), typically used as a crosslinker for polyester and polyacrylic polyols. CORONATE^® HXR 90 can be utilised in two-component polyurethane coatings to provide excellent outdoor durability and mechanical properties alongside excellent resistance to solvents, abrasion and chemicals.
